Restorative Mastering
If the mix to work with is not ready for mastering and you no longer have access to your project files, this is a service for you.
Severe issues in the balance, or the mix is completely dead and empty?
Let’s extract some things out of it and layer things on top.

It’s done by bringing the initial master to be as good as it can be and then fixing the issues with editing and layering.
Can it be fixed with adding or removing something?
If not – Restorative Reconstruction would be separating and splitting the track into individual samples, to re-do the mix.
It involves using advanced separation mechanisms, or manually cutting out things and then using as much of the original content as possible, to push the track towards completion.
Can be used on everything, starting with low bitrate lossy files, a bad mix that falls apart when corrected in master (correcting a smiley curve tonality for instance), recurring noises, or a completely dead mix, that needs some life breathed into it.
Disclaimer – the quality depends on the type of content.
Acoustic performances are impossible to get out clean and will suffer from severe artifacting, so the probability of a clean and good sounding result is less likely. It can be done in order to get a specific thing out of it, or creatively reshape the balance of the track.
Electronic music stands a much higher chance to be almost perfectly reconstructed, given that there are no non-linear effects (such as a flanger, phaser or chorus), or excessive modulation on the instruments, not in sync with the rest of the track. In some cases, if the track is nicely aligned and has empty parts with just the individual samples, it can simply be phase cancelled out of the rest of it.
Pricing
It depends on a lot of factors and may get pricey, compared to standard Mastering.
It is cheaper than Restorative Reconstruction because it’s focused into singular issues, rather than the entire mix.
Depending on chosen task and the approach, the pricing will be by-the-hour or an agreed rate.
Depending on severity of issues – usually ends up around 50-300€.
Will be low, if something needs to be only attenuated or removed.
Will be high, if removal needs masking afterwards and layering.
